i.
Have a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree
from a recognized University;
ii.
Have a Post-graduate Diploma in Law from
Kenya School of Law;
iii.
Be a member of the Law Society of Kenya
and in good standing;
iv.
Have a valid practicing license;
v.
Have knowledge and work experience of
not less than ten (10) years;
vi.
Have at least five (5) years’ experience
as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya;
vii.
Be knowledgeable in records of relevant
laws and professional standards; and
viii.
Satisfy the requirements of chapter six
of the Constitution of Kenya.
i.
Principal legal adviser in the County
Government;
ii.
Attend the meetings of the County
Executive Committee as an ex-officio member of the executive committee;
iii.
On instruction of the County Government,
represent the County Executive in court or any legal proceeding to which the
County Executive is a party other than criminal proceedings;
iv.
Advise departments in the County
Executive on legislative and other legal matters;
v.
Negotiate, draft, vet and interpret
documents and agreements for and on behalf of County Executive and its
agencies;
vi.
Responsible for the revision of County
Laws;
vii.
Liaise with the office of Attorney
General when need arises;
viii.
Perform any other function as may be
necessary for the effective discharge of the duties and the exercise of the
powers of the County Attorney.
